Description

PHO Grand Rounds: Immunization Coverage in Ontario since the implementation of Panorama (2013-14 to 2015-16 school years)

This presentation will highlight key findings from a PHO report on immunization coverage that will be released in June 2017.

The report marks several important milestones for Ontario: it is the first immunization coverage report using data derived from the Digital Health Immunization Repository (“Panorama”), the first to use up-to-date coverage methodology and the first to publicly report on immunization coverage for individual health units.

In this presentation, provincial converage estimates for Ontario's publicly funded immunization programs will be reviewed for school-aged students and described in relation to both recent provincial trends and to national coverage targets.

Presenters: Andi Bunko and Sarah Wilson

Andi Bunko is an Epidemiologist Lead with the Immunization and Vaccine Preventable Diseases (IVPD) team at Public Health Ontario (PHO). She has a Master of Public Health (Epidemiology) from the University of Michigan.

Sarah Wilson is a public health physician who works as a medical epidemiologist within the IVPD team at PHO. She is also an assistant professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and an adjunct scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences.
